Academia Internationala de Hochei Munteanu is a premier hockey development program founded by Cris Munteanu with a mission to elevate Romanian hockey through world-class training, character development, and international opportunities.

Cristi Munteanu is the founder and Executive Director of Academia Internațională de Hochei Munteanu, leading the academy’s vision, coaching philosophy, and long-term development strategy. With more than 30 years of coaching experience, including leadership roles with CSM Dunărea Galați and Romania’s national team programs, he has dedicated his career to developing young athletes and strengthening hockey development in Romania.
Through AIHM, Cristi continues to build disciplined, structured development environments where players are challenged to improve their skills, understand the game, and develop the habits, confidence, and work ethic required to progress.

Cristi Munteanu is the founder and Executive Director of Academia Internațională de Hochei Munteanu, leading the academy’s vision, coaching philosophy, and long-term development strategy.
With more than 30 years of coaching experience, Cristi has dedicated his career to developing young athletes and strengthening hockey development in Romania. A graduate of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Dunărea de Jos University of Galați, he has built his coaching approach around discipline, accountability, strong fundamentals, technical development, and long-term athlete growth.
Since 2018, Cristi has served as Head Coach of the U11 program at CSM Dunărea Galați, where he has played a key role in developing young players during some of the most important stages of their hockey journey. He has also served as Director of Hockey for the organization, supporting player development and hockey programming across the club.
In addition to his club-level leadership, Cristi has represented Romania internationally as a member of the national team coaching staff, including assignments with Team Romania and the Romania U18 National Team at the IIHF level.
Through AIHM, Cristi continues to build disciplined, structured, and demanding development environments where athletes are challenged to improve their skills, hockey IQ, work ethic, confidence, and understanding of the game. His work through the AIHM International Hockey Camp brings together Romanian and international coaches to provide young players with exposure to modern training methods, different hockey perspectives, and high-level development opportunities.

Director, International Programs
Florin Munteanu oversees AIHM’s program coordination, planning, and delivery, working across Romanian, Canadian, and international relationships to support a structured and professional athlete experience. With a master’s degree in project management and experience across Romanian and Canadian hockey environments, he brings operational discipline, clear communication, and international perspective to AIHM’s coaching collaborations, parent communications, camp planning, and program execution.

Florin Munteanu is a Romanian-born hockey coach, whose coaching philosophy is rooted in discipline, structure, and high-level defensive play.
With experience in both Romanian and Canadian hockey environments, Florin brings an international perspective to player development, combining European fundamentals with the pace, competitiveness, and tactical approach of the Canadian game. Specializing in defensive development, he focuses on skating efficiency, positioning, hockey IQ, gap control, puck movement, and situational awareness, helping players build confidence and consistency in all areas of the ice.
Based in Gatineau, Quebec, Florin coached minor hockey with the Association Hockey Mineur de Maniwaki, where he worked closely with young athletes in competitive development environments while continuing to strengthen his coaching experience within the Canadian hockey system.
Known for his calm, detail-oriented coaching style, Florin is committed to developing complete athletes while reinforcing accountability, teamwork, and strong habits both on and off the ice.
Working alongside his brother, Cristi, Florin is part of the leadership team behind Academia Internațională de Hochei Munteanu, helping support the academy’s mission of delivering internationally informed hockey education and high-performance player development for the next generation of athletes.

Lori Barron-Munteanu serves as Director, Marketing, Communications & Partnerships for Academia Internațională de Hochei Munteanu, bringing more than 20 years of professional experience in strategic communications, branding, marketing, and organizational leadership.
Based in Gatineau, Quebec, Lori combines her professional communications expertise with a strong background in hockey and athlete development. Actively involved in minor hockey, she previously served as team manager and bench staff with Association Hockey Mineur de Maniwaki and is currently involved with the Association du Hockey Féminin Vallée de Gatineau (AHFVG). Through these roles, she has spent years supporting player development initiatives while helping create positive, structured, and team-focused environments for young athletes and their families.
Throughout her career, Lori has led communications and marketing initiatives for national organizations, nonprofits, and advocacy-based associations across Canada, specializing in brand development, public engagement, digital strategy, storytelling, and organizational growth. Her experience in building professional, credible, and community-focused brands plays a key role in shaping the academy’s identity and long-term vision.
In addition to her professional communications work, Lori is also the creator of Healthy Hockey Mom, a hockey lifestyle platform focused on nutrition, wellness, and practical advice for hockey families navigating the demands of the sport both on and off the ice.
As part of the leadership team behind Academia Internațională de Hochei Munteanu, Lori supports the academy’s marketing, communications, organizational development, and camp coordination while helping advance its mission of combining international hockey education with discipline, performance, and character development both on and off the ice.

Vitali Kirichenko

Vitali Kirichenko is an accomplished international hockey coach and former professional player whose career has taken him across some of Europe’s most competitive hockey environments.
Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Vitali represented Ukraine at the U18, U20, and senior national team levels while competing professionally in Ukraine, Belarus, Hungary, Romania, and the MOL Liga. Known for his offensive skill, hockey IQ, and leadership, he built a distinguished playing career that included appearances at IIHF World Championships, Olympic qualification tournaments, and numerous international competitions.
A longtime member of the Romanian hockey community, Vitali currently serves as a player-coach with CSM Dunărea Galați. Over the course of his career, he has played more than 300 games in Romania while continuing to contribute to player development and coaching within the organization.
Vitali also spent time in Québec, Canada, gaining exposure to the Canadian hockey development system and further broadening his international perspective on the game. His experience across both European and North American hockey environments allows him to bring a well-rounded approach to player development.
At AIHM International Hockey Camp, Vitali works with athletes on skating, puck skills, game awareness, and hockey fundamentals while sharing insights gained from a professional career spanning multiple countries, leagues, and levels of competition.

Cezar Gheorghe is a Romanian hockey player and coach from Galați who brings a unique perspective to athlete development as both a current senior-level player and a product of the AIHM development philosophy.
Developed under the mentorship of Cristi Munteanu from an early age, Cezar progressed through the Romanian minor hockey system within the same environment and coaching principles that now form the foundation of Academia Internațională de Hochei Munteanu. Having experienced that development pathway firsthand, he understands the challenges, expectations, and opportunities young athletes face throughout their hockey journey.
Currently competing with Dunărea Galați at the senior level, Cezar brings current playing experience and a modern perspective on training, preparation, and performance. His work at camp focuses on skill development, conditioning, skating, puck control, and helping athletes develop the habits and work ethic required to continue progressing in the game.
Particularly involved in off-ice development, Cezar works closely with athletes on conditioning, preparation, and building the discipline and consistency necessary for long-term success.
In addition to his hockey career, he has pursued studies in physical education and sport, further strengthening his understanding of training, athlete development, and performance.
